‘Moving beyond the physical toward a holistic practice of self healing’

‘Our inner self uses the process of our life to try to catch our conscious attention’.
Cape Woolamai, Phillip Island

As a General Medical Practitioner with over thirty years experience, I’ve worked in a variety of practices – rural and suburban; traditional and alternative. In working comprehensively with many patients over the years, I’ve learnt a lot about how people can transform their health and that healing is a natural process. My primary interest has developed into a holistic approach to health and my aim is to enable patients to pay attention to their bodies so they may enhance the body’s natural healing processes. My passion for writing has developed over this time.

I have left Phillip Island Health as of August 2021 and have moved to Pennyroyal Raspberry Farm in the Otways. I am now working at Birregurra Medical Centre.

Mel Rose will continue to work at Phillip Island Health at 28 Leeson street, Cowes on Phillip Island. Please visit the practice website for details – www.phillipislandhealth.com.au .

Dr. Carol Head

In 2015, I published my first book called Holistic Medicine: Beyond the Physical. I wrote this book after one of my best friends died quite suddenly. Her death shocked me and transformed my life from one where my head and ego ruled my behaviour to a more soulful and holistic existence. I realised that the way I had been living had come about through being heavily influenced by a culture which worshipped logic and ego. I began to notice that if I paid more attention to my feelings, my thinking, my passions and my intuition, that life became easier and more joyful. So Holistic Medicine is about living from a more soul-centred place and following the flow of our lives in order to be the whole person we are meant to be.

My second book is called:

Tools for Transformation’

Tools for Transformation will give you tools that you can use to help transform your life into one dictated by your soul and heart rather than your ego and mind. Tools such as letting go, opening the heart, being present and tapping into source energy will enhance your ability to live a soulful life.
Tools for transformation IS AVAILABLE AS A paperback IN MY SHOP FOR $20 including postage in Australia.

I am currently working on my third book, which is called How to Heal Yourself, and is written specifically for people trying to heal themselves from a disease or illness. It outlines the most useful ways to enhance our body’s own natural healing abilities and will give people proven strategies that boost this natural process. I hope to publish this book in 2022. I am committed to and passionate about helping people learn how to heal themselves and I believe my writing is a way to bring this information to people.

We do best when we allow them to do what water does naturally, to cycle and flow’.
